After a day hiking in Boulder’s Chautauqua Park Trailhead and grabbing food in Downtown Boulder, Hana and I had a few hours to kill before driving back to Denver (and attempting to beat Sunday traffic). A friend suggested Settlers Park, which is about a five minute drive from downtown. We were so surprised at how cool it was.
Settlers Park is essentially huge sandstone red rock formations that you can climb up and see great views of the city. We were lucky enough to catch it at sunset.
It’s also the beginning of Boulder’s Red Rocks Trail. If you have more time than we did, take the Anemone trail west. It’s about .4 miles. You can find the trail map here.
We didn’t take the trail because the sun was already setting when we arrived, but overall Settlers Park is a really great place if you’re just looking for views of Boulder!
